Gilgen Logistics upgraded the existing 20 lorry loading docks at the Migros operations centre in Dierikon, Lucerne, to the latest standard. In this retrofit, the docking points were converted into new thermal loading docks. A steel structure clad with ISO panels enables a thermally optimised façade with highly insulated sectional doors and inflatable door seals. During the conversion, all loading ramps were replaced with five different customised loading ramps.
The Migros operations centre in Dierikon is the logistics, production and administration site of the Migros Cooperative Lucerne. All Migros supermarket branches in Central Switzerland are supplied with fresh products from here. The site has been continuously expanded and modernised. Most recently, the existing 20 lorry loading docks were upgraded to the latest standard.
In Gilgen, we found a partner that we had to say would work, and that has been confirmed.

During operation
The special thing about this project was that the conversion was carried out during ongoing operations in a very tight time frame, coupled with many unknowns that only came to light after the existing building had been dismantled. Flexibility and ad hoc solutions were constantly in demand. The coordination and preparations were a particular challenge.
