Nomination
Swiss Logistics Award 2022
Together with Denner AG, we have been nominated for the Swiss Logistics Award 2022 by GS1. Our project "Digitalisation meets Automation" is among the last four finalists of the most important Swiss logistics award. The award ceremony will take place on 8 June 2022 in the Kursaal Bern.
Gilgen Logistics is digitising its intralogistics facilities. State-of-the-art technologies such as augmented reality, cloud solutions and GS1 Digital Link are being merged and used with intralogistics.
Each individual element of Gilgen Logistics' entire intralogistics system is now uniquely identified via the GS1 Global Individual Asset Identifier (GIAI) and digitally stored with the product information in the cloud. Via the QR code, the GS1 Digital Link connects each physical product with its digital twin. In this way, plant drawings, product information down to the smallest installed part can be displayed on a smartphone, tablet or via AR glasses. The data and parameters are updated throughout the entire process. This ensures that everyone involved always works with the most up-to-date data. Already during the sales process, the system can be presented in 3D and virtually inspected by the customer. For assembly and service work, the information and animated augmented reality instructions can be called up via the QR code. The live overview shows where which goods are being conveyed and which conveyor sections are in motion. The first digital system was put into operation in autumn 2021 at the Denner distribution centre in Lyss.
more over the project
Since 1996, GS1 Switzerland has been honouring new and pioneering logistics services with the Swiss Logistics Award. The Swiss Logistics Award goes to a company for special market and customer-oriented process solutions that have demonstrably initiated an above-average market success with their realisation.
The presentation of the Swiss Logistics Award by an expert jury draws attention to Swiss logistics solutions and pursues the following goals: On the one hand, the quality of logistics services is to be highlighted and, on the other hand, the economic value is to be made transparent.
The latter should also help to give the logistics sector a face in the public eye. In recent years, the Swiss Logistics Award has become the most important national logistics prize.
